PlayStation™ Liverpool Office

Art Direction, Graphic Design, Wayfinding

Along with Tom Southernwood, I Art Directed and created graphic assets for the opening of the new PlayStation offices in Liverpool. We pitched ideas to the various stake-holders, created custom assets and pitched and commissioned various artists and illustrators to create fun murals around the office.

Artist Murals

Neil Keating created a mural for the canteen area, based on the idea of highlighting various aspects of the local Liverpool culture, combined with familiar PlayStation elements such as the controllers and characters.

The illustrations were also used to create gifts and stationary for the PlayStation employees.

We commissioned artist Nick ‘Hammo’ Hamilton to create a huge eye-catching mural in the entrance of the office that can be seen as you walk by the office.

It features a host of friendly characters interacting with PlayStation games, scattered around a landscape of famous Liverpool locations.

other murals were created by internal PlayStation artists for the lift lobby areas, seen as employees exit the lift on each floor.

There are 4 floors in the office, and each floor’s mural is dedicated to the first 4 generations of PlayStation consoles era’s - from PlayStation 1 to PlayStation 4.

Wall Vinyls & Frosted Glass

Myoung Chung created a bespoke typeface to be used as a large wall vinyl in the entrance of the office.

The typeface also has been used for internal videos about the Liverpool office.

I created custom frosted window vinyl designs for each of the meeting rooms throughout the building.

Wayfinding

I created a bespoke wayfinding system and icon set for the building.
